    Shop Historic Downtown Marble Falls

    Head to Main Street in Marble Falls and explore the historic downtown area.

    Here visitors are greeted by numerous boutique shops ranging from clothing stores to a vintage candy store.

    This area of Marble Falls is a great place to spend the afternoon.

    You can shop for clothes, home items, check out a winery, and a gourmet chocolate shop all within few blocks.

    It doesn’t get any better than that!

    While you’re here, take time to demonstrate your musical abilities at the instruments that are located at Harmony Park on Main Street.

    When you’re hungry, be sure to hit up Texas Elite Meats. This small meat market serves up one of the best burgers ever!

    If you want, you can even take your burger to go and have a scenic lunch down by Lake Marble Falls.

    Have Fun at Sweet Berry Farm

    A visit to Sweet Berry Farm should definitely be on your list of things to do in Marble Falls, TX.

    Sweet Berry Farms seems to always have something going on.

    In the springtime you can pick your own berries including strawberries and blackberries.

    The summer months welcome visitors with a beautiful sunflower field at Sweet Berry Farm.

    The flower field and berries make for great photo ops!

    While all of this is great, the highlight of this farm is their fall festival.

    During the month of October, Sweet Berry Farm welcomes thousands of locals and visitors to have fun on the farm.

    Activities during the Fall Festival include stuffing your own scarecrow, pumpkin painting, hayrides, sand art, bounce houses and more!

    The two highlights of this festival are the Texas shaped corn maze and the large pumpkin patch that you can explore.

    Admission to the farm is free, but you do have to pay for the different activities that you want to participate in.

    The farm does accept both cash and credit cards and offers concessions.

    Spend the Day at Lakeside Park

    You will find Lakeside Park located right on Marble Falls Lake not far from downtown.

    Lakeside Parks is a great place to spend the day relaxing in nature.

    Lakeside Park has a swimming pool, tennis and basketball courts, covered picnic tables, barbecue pits, and more.

    Really, Lakeside Park has everything you need for a fun day out with your family!

    Explore Balcones Canyonlands National Wildlife Refuge

    Balcones Canyonlands is one of the fabulous things to do in Marble Falls, especially for nature lovers.

    Not only will you find yourself surrounded by the beautiful hill country, but you will also be surrounded by wildlife at Balcones Canyonlands National Wildlife Refuge.

    The area has been designated as an internationally Important Bird Area for it’s importance to birds.

    Two birds in particular love the Balcones Canyonlands National Wildlife Refuge, the golden-cheeked warbler and the black capped vireo.

    In the late 1980s the black capped vireo was considered an endangered species, but thanks to places such as Balcones Canyonlands there are over 14,000 birds in existence today.

    Even if you aren’t a bird watcher, you can still enjoy Balcones.

    There are over eight miles of hiking trails in this area that allow you to get up close with the wildlife that call it home.

    Chow Down at Blue Bonnet Cafe

    You cannot spent time in Marble Falls, TX and not make eat at Blue Bonnet Cafe.

    This Marble Falls favorite has been serving it’s delicious southern comfort food since 1929 in this small town.

    Local and visitors flock to the Blue Bonnet Cafe to enjoy their all-day breakfast menu, a Texas chicken fried steak, and delicious side dishes.

    While all that is great, it is truly the pies that Blue Bonnet Cafe is famous for.

    Upon entering the restaurant, you are greeted with their pie case full of their famous mile-high meringue pies and delicious cream pies.

    I always go for the coconut cream and Marty goes for the chocolate meringue.

    No matter what you choose, just get the pie. Trust us!

    Check Out the Local Craft Breweries

    Marble Falls (and the Texas Hill Country in general) is big on craft breweries and boutique wineries.

    If you had a meal at the Blue Bonnet Café, then you were bound to see the Bear King Brewing Company located just across the street. Bear King Brewing Company is a great place to try some local craft beer and eat some great pub-style food.

    During your visit to Bear King Brewing Company, you can even take a tour of the brewery and learn all about the brewing process.

    Another great brewery that calls Marble Falls home is Save the World Brewery.

    Owners Dave and Quynh Rathkamp traded in their doctors coats and opened a 100% philanthropic craft brewery when they opened Save the World.

    Visitors to Save the World can enjoy a beer tasting to determine their favorite before purchasing a glass to enjoy out on the patio.

    In addition to the patio area, Save the World also has seating and televisions located in their storage warehouse.

    This allows you to get up close and personal with the beer making process.

    Sip Some Texas Wine

    Texas is quickly becoming a go-to wine destination in the United States thanks to all of the boutique wineries that are popping up throughout the state.

    Lucky for you, the town of Marble Falls, TX has some great ones for you to visit.

    Right in the heart of town, you will find a tasting room for Fiesta Winery.

    Fiesta is home to numerous types of wine from dry to sweet. We find their wine delicious and easy to drink.

    Not only that, but their colorful décor and fun labels makes visiting Fiesta Winery a treat for sure!

    Another winery in Marble Falls is Flat Creek Estate Winery.

    Combine Flat Creek Estate’s great wines with their beautiful views and this is the perfect place to spend an afternoon.

    After doing a tasting, you can enjoy a glass or take a bottle to go.

    If you visit on Saturday or Sunday, you can also take a tour of the winery.

    Spicewood Vineyards isn’t far from Marble Falls if you are looking for another winery to visit.

    Spicewood Vineyards have been producing Texas wine since 1992.

    Here you can taste their varieties of award-winning wines while gazing out onto their 32-acres of vineyards.

    Tour an Underground Cave

    Although technically in Burnet, Longhorn Cavern State Park is close enough to Marble Falls to make it onto our list.

    Longhorn Cavern State Park is a fun adventure for the whole family.

    Visitors are taken on a guided walking tour of the underground cave and taught all about the cavern’s formation and history.

    The cavern has unique geological features and is home to several Eastern Pipistrelle bats.

    During your guided tour, it is very likely that you will see a couple of these bats hanging around.

    They are a little hard to spot in the cave as they don’t hang out in colonies.

    These bats are loner bats.

    During your time at the state park, be sure to venture out on the walking trails that go around the park.

    These trails lead you to several historic buildings that are remnants from the time of the CCC workers that helped to clear the cave.

    Honestly, Longhorn Cavern State Park is one of the best things to do in Marble Falls!

    Enjoy Johnson Park

    Johnson Park is a nice greenspace in Marble Falls that is located close to Main Street.

    Here, mature pecan trees provide shade from the Texas sun as people enjoy the park.

    Johnson Park has hiking and biking trails, an amphitheater, a boat ramp, playground, and picnic areas all on Lake Marble Falls.

    Honestly, spending a day on Lake Marble Falls is one of the best things to do in Burnet County!

    Check Out Turkey Bend Recreation Area

    Turkey Bend Recreation Area is a fabulous place to add to your list of things to do in Marble Falls.

    At Turkey Bend Recreation Area, you can explore more than 400-acres of the beautiful Texas Hill Country.

    Turkey Bend is a great place to do some fishing thanks to the clear flowing waters of the Colorado River.

    This area also provides hike and bike trails for those feeling adventurous, and is also a great place to go kayaking. There are also primitive campsites available for use.

    Take a Drive

    The terrain around Marble Falls and Lake Marble Falls is one of the attractions of the area, making it the perfect place to just take a drive through the Texas countryside.

    Just head through town and take Ranch to Market Road 1431 (RM-1431). This drive will treat you to pristine views through the Texas Hill Country.

    Enjoy the scenic views of Burnet County as the road and hills engulf you.

    This drive is one of the best things to do in late spring/early summer when all of the famous Texas bluebonnets and other wildflowers are in bloom.

    So many of the small towns in Texas are artist communities, and Marble Falls is definitely included in that.

    During your time in Marble Falls, TX, check out the sculptures on Main St.

    These sculptures were organized in 2007 and they showcase the talented artists of the Marble Falls community and are now one of the staple attractions in the city.

    In addition to the sculptures on Main, there are several art galleries as well.

    Check out the Marta Stafford Fine Art gallery or the Highland Arts Guild, and The Gallery 9th Street during your time in Marble Falls, TX.

    Play Golf

    The Marble Falls area is also home to some great golf courses so grab your clubs and find your favorite!

    About 1 mile from Marble Falls city center you will find Hidden Falls Golf Course at Meadow Lake.

    This 18 hole course opened in 1973 and has been a town favorite ever since. In addition to the course, there is also a shop, a bar, and a bistro.

    Located about 5 miles from Marble Falls city center are the Blue Lake Golf Club, Slick Rock at Horseshoe Bay Resort, Summit Rock at Horseshoe Bay Resort, Escondido Golf & Lake Club, and more!

    Play at Hidden Falls Adventure Park

    For travelers looking for an adrenaline rush while visiting Marble Falls, TX should definitely head to Hidden Falls Adventure Park.

    Hidden Falls Adventure Park is 3,000 acres of trails that are waiting for you to explore with your off-road vehicle.

    There are specialized trails for 4×4 vehicles, dirt bikes, and ATVs ensuring that you have a fun and safe experience.

    If you don’t own an off-road vehicle, don’t worry, you can still have fun at Hidden Falls Adventure Park. You can rent a vehicle from Hill Country Adventure Rentals.

    Learn About Dead Man’s Hole

    Dead Man’s Hole has a crazy and interesting history.

    Dead Man’s Hole (which is now covered) is a sinkhole measuring approximately seven feet in diameter and approximately 155 feet deep.

    It is said that the area was a dumping ground for bodies during the Civil War.

    Whether or not that is true, well, you can read up on it and judge for yourself.
